A downloadable game for Windows
Overview
In this game, you are given some knots that are all tangled together, and your job is to unknot them. You use the purple cursor to manipulate the given knot by drawing a path to extend / cut a specific knot section, and you win each level when all the knot crossings are gone.
Rules
The colored arrows indicate the knot orientation, and it determines which direction to cut the knot when a path is drawn. Press SPACE or left mouse button to start drawing a path, and press it again when the cursor is on existing knot tiles to finish drawing it. This path will make new tiles go over existing knot tiles or path tiles. You can also press F or right mouse button to draw a path that goes under existing knot tiles or path tiles. (Note that you need to press SPACE / left mouse button to finish drawing the path.)
If the cursor hits a knot corner while drawing the path, it will automatically finish drawing the path. A path is drawn successfully only when the knot section to be replaced either go all under or all over other knot sections (but not both), and the over / under-ness of the path matches that of the replaced knot session. This ensures the knot 'topology' gets preserved.
(NOTE : Since I didn't playtest thoroughly, I made level 16 unbeatable and you have to skip it by pressing L. All other levels are beatable though.)
Controls
Both keyboard and mouse control work.
W/A/S/D : Move the purple cursor
SPACE / Left mouse click : Enter / exit draw mode, so that the drawn path goes over existing knot tiles
F / Right mouse click : Enter draw_under mode, so that the drawn path goes under existing knot tiles
R : Restart level
Q : Hide / show arrows
L : Skip to next level
K : Return to previous level
Note: The purple cursor will stop following the mouse if it moves away too quickly, and it will only re-follow the mouse if it gets close again.
